for the criminally insane. All the patients at Perkins have been found not guilty
by reason of insanity, and virtually all have committed extremely violent crimes.
Elsoudani El-Wahhabi stabbed a woman to death, then cut out his own tongue.
Brian Bechtold murdered both his parents with a shotgun when he was just 17
years old. Todd E. beat his mother with a baseball bat, then finished her off with
a kitchen knife. In one hour, CRIMINALLY INSANE portrays the most intimate
details of life among the dangerously mentally ill. We learn what’s being done for
them and, more importantly, who decides whether these terrifying individuals
are ready to be released.
